What is NWRDC?

The Northwest Regional Data Center is one of seven regional data centers located around the state.   NWRDC supports 44 school districts, Northwest ESD 189, Puget Sound ESD 121, and the WSIPC Finance Office plus three small programs. The NWRDC staff support member districts using the WSIPC Legacy and WESPaC software.

Our Mission:

Providing Quality Information Services to Washington State School Districts and Private Schools

Service Area:

The NWRDC services schools from the Canadian border to the San Juan Islands and south to Sumner in Pierce County. Our members represent more than 165,000 student FTE which makes NWRDC the largest of the seven regional data centers. District and Program members include:

NWESD 189: Anacortes, Arlington, Blaine, Burlington-Edison, Concrete, Conway, Coupeville, Darrington, Ferndale, Granite Falls, Index, La Conner, Lake Stevens, Lakewood, Lopez Island, Lynden, Marysville, Meridian, Monroe, Mount Baker, Mount Vernon, Nooksack, Oak Harbor, Orcas Island, San Juan Island, Sedro-Woolley, Snohomish, South Whidbey, Stanwood-Camano and Sultan plus the Northwest Regional Learning Center

Location:

Our office and training/meeting facilities are co-located with WSIPC at 2121 West Casino Road, Everett, WA. We also have a satellite training lab within a mile of the office facility. The NWRDC is the only regional data center not housed at an ESD and with its Everett location affords us the ability to cover such a wide area.

Governance and Staff:

The NWRDC is part of Northwest ESD 189 and governed by their Board policies. In addition the Advisory Board is comprised of the 43 member superintendents who nominate and elect a five member Executive Committee that helps set direction and recommends the annual FTE fee paid by the membership. The Executive Committee meets a maximum of five times during the school year at the Everett site. Agendas are sent to all superintendents prior to the meetings. The meetings are open, and if attending, please contact Judy Wall, NWRDC Director to assure materials and seating are available, 24 hours in advance of the meeting.

The staff of 26 is divided among administration, technology, operations, and student and fiscal analyst support.

Funding:

The NWRDC is supported through members FTE fees, with 98 percent of its annual income based on these fees plus 2 percent coming from special projects. The Print Shop, which opened in May 2007, has been developed as a fee for service opportunity with only those districts utilizing the service paying for it.

The NWRDC FTE fee remains the third lowest of the Regional Data Centers for 2007-2008.  In addition to the WSIPC software licensing fee of $16.84, a Full Service member pays $23.27, Student Only pays $14.77 and Fiscal Only pays $12.94 per FTE.  NWRDC has one Student Only and two Fiscal Only clients.
