Citrix portal PC tips

For user who do not have Citrix installed please click on the correct link below. During the 2005 summer WSIPC upgraded the Citrix MF servers to the latest version of Citrix.  By this time everyone should be using the Citrix version 10.15 client (PC). I strongly recommend updating to this Citrix client which will provide several benefits to Citrix printing and connectivity.

Citrix ICA file not found.   This message is usually an easy fix.

The solution involves going into IE / Tools / Internet Options, and selecting delete files in the Temporary Internet Files section and restart IE. If this does not fix the problem please have your tech staff contact JC Sain at NWRDC to further troubleshoot this problem.

Citrix portal MAC tips

For users who do not have Citrix installed please contact your district technical staff for installation. It is critical to get the right Citrix client to match your OS X operating system. Please refer to the correct link below.

WSIPC updated the Citrix MF server environment summer 2005.  Updating the local Citrix client is strongly recommended.  Also there has been an update to the Citrix client for OS X that should help with some of the printing issues.  So I again strongly recommend getting the latest OS X Citrix client. If you are still on OS 9 there is no client change or update.

Using Safari with Citrix.

While Safari works with the EA+ product for teachers Safari will not work properly with Citrix. Citrix and Safari do not work well together and the most obvious problem is users cannot print to their local printers from Citrix.  Both Fire Fox and IE are on the workstation guidance listing but Internet Explorer is on its way out due to lack of any recent updates.
